Evanston WY

The weekend after the 4th of July we headed to Evanston, Wyoming for a weekend to see a bunch of college friends/neighbors/running teammates. It was better than any class reunion anytime. Since that weekend I have thought alot about things from the first couple of years that we were married that I hadn't thought of for a long time. These families we got to see, we haven't seen for 11 + years. We had our first children together, attended each others weddings, cried together when dear friends lost their baby, took sunday walks together, laughed at who wasn't the best house keeper, traveled to meets together, and played games and become one anothers families. I am indebted to Kim for all these pictures. My camera sat completely charged, safe at home on the kitchen table.
There was so much for the kids to do at the Ranch. They fed lambs and calves, rode horses and 4 wheelers, played badmitton, football and played in the creek.
It was so nice that all the kids had someone to play with and everyone got along.
MyLeigh and Taelor become quick friends. Taelor was great to share her horse and to give MyLeigh riding lessons.
With all those people, we had some great meals and LOTS of food to eat!
Ty is the oldest of the kids and celebrated his 11th birthday while we were together.
All of the kids together. What a Crew!
The Davies- Wes, Kim, Ty, Tate and Taelor
Christiansens- Hugh,Colleen, Chase, Jess, Hayden and Gentry...and baby boy on the way!Everybody's kids were so cute, but I think these kids take the cake!
Barkers-Roy, Amber, Jamen, Stacia, Ky, and Cassie
Talleys-Corbin, Stephanie, Ashlynn and Savannah
The funniest story is probably only funny to us cause of the background of these guys. Runners. We were sitting around taking and telling stories and Wes says that he NEVERs runs. EVER. All the sudden a kid runs to us, telling us someone flipped the 4 wheeler. We all book it out of our seats. Wes, Bob and Roy take off running. Nate is slow to start and then decides he needs to catch up. All of us Moms are wondering which of our sons is hurt. The guys keep running cause apparnetly the boys are out on the main road. (if you can call it that) The girls get on the 4 wheelers to head out. I look up and see that Nate is climbing out of a dried up ditch. He keeps slipping and can't get his footing. We see the guys out on the road and some of them are still running. We can't imagine how far away the wreck took place. When we finally catch up, I learn that Bob got there first, Nate 2nd and then Roy. Wes is laying at the side of the road dry heaving. Thanks goodness someone brought a car cause he is the one needing a ride back. The wreck consisted of an injured go-cart and nothing more. Thank goodness. It was some great excitement for teh afternoon and gave us all a good laugh, when all was said and done.

It was such a fun weekend! I have a million more pictures of your kids on the horses etc... I can mail you a CD. I am so glad Nate got this together! I tell everyone about Wes passing out on the side of the road. He still has NO desire to ever run again!
