Spinach anyone?

Friday morning I took off for Utah with some friends. It was a great day. The whole point of going was that Robyn Openshaw was speaking in Layton that night. We were in the Layton area and went from store to store to store. Browsing, trying clothes on, buying, visiting, laughing and of course eating. It was nice to go with the attitude of "What do you want to do next?" We all got done what we wanted to and we had time to kill before the Seminar started. Lunch was awesome. I have a hard time eating someplace new and this place had me frozen right when I walked in the door. It was not a sit down look and the menu and order. It was walk in, order and sit with your food. We went to Zupas and I am thinking I want to go back for more soup! It was so yummy! We had plans for dinner, but lunch was so good, we were stuffed and totally skipped dinner..well except for some new fruit and veggie bars we tried at the seminar, oh yeah and a couple reeses peanut butter hearts(its valentines) on the way home. So who is Robyn Openshaw? Check her site out here. She is the "green smoothie girl". I listened to some very thought provoking ideas from her. I started doing green smoothies in October and started making them for my family in November. To be honest, not everyone likes them, but they have all been great sports about them. I love the way that I feel. I sleep better and wake up refreshed, among other things. I learned some other things that can be incorporated into our family that I will be doing slowly. I am just not ready to give up my Reeses! So, what goes in our Smoothies? Spinach. Lots of Spinach. Then carrots, khale, apple, orange, kiwi, strawberries, mixed berries, flaxseed and soon, bee pollen. Sometimes some pinapple and honeydew. We started eating sprouts last week and I plan on doing broccoli, alfalfa, and chia sprouts myself. Just as soon as I get everything ordered. Don't think I am crazy. I just feel that a lot of these things make sense. What did people eat 100 years ago? The Lord put certain things on the earth for us our resource and for the benefit of our health. But like I said, I will still be eating my Reeses! Thanks Cami and Claudette, it was a great day and I look forward to doing it again!

Sounds fun and informative. My family has to put up with my new "ingredient" for the week that goes into our smoothies. It is just so easy to get a lot of nutrition in a glass.

so what kind of blender do you have? We eat green smoothies around here on a pretty regular basis! It totally makes sense to us!
